STEPAHOLIC

FREE BROWSER DANCE GAME

A free, browser-based alternative to Just Dance

Stepaholic uses your webcam to track movement and grades your dancing against rhythm-game charts. Same dance-with-your-body feel as Just Dance Now or Just Dance Unlimited, but in a browser tab and with no subscription.

  • Webcam-only - no console, no phone

Most Just Dance setups need a console or a phone-as-controller. Stepaholic just uses the webcam on the device you are already on.

  • Runs in any modern browser

Chrome, Edge, or Safari with a webcam. Nothing to download. The "open the page and dance" loop takes about 30 seconds.

  • No subscription, no DLC

No monthly fee, no song-pack store, no account. The whole game is free, end of sentence.

  • Rhythm-game scoring

Stepaholic scores you on hit timing against a chart, like Stepmania or DDR - not on choreography mimicry. If you like score-chasing, that loop is here.

Frequently asked questions

Is Stepaholic affiliated with Just Dance or Ubisoft?

No. Stepaholic is an independent webcam dance game and has no affiliation with, endorsement from, or licensing arrangement with Ubisoft or the Just Dance franchise. The comparison here is informational - Just Dance is what people often describe when they want a "dance with your body" game.

How is Stepaholic different from Just Dance?

Stepaholic is a rhythm game first. You are scored on timing - did your step land on the beat - rather than on how closely your motion matches a choreographed reference. Songs are also chart-based (think Stepmania or DDR), not full music-video routines. If you specifically want the choreography-follow experience, Just Dance does that better.

Do I need a Joy-Con or phone as a controller?

No. The webcam alone tracks your full body. Most Just Dance setups require a separate motion sensor (Joy-Con, phone, or console camera). Stepaholic does not.

How does the camera tracking work?

On-device pose detection (MediaPipe Tasks Vision) reads your body in real time. We map your steps to a 4-direction zone grid and score hit timing against the chart. Nothing leaves your device - the camera feed is processed locally in your browser.

How many songs are there?

Around 20 bundled charts at the moment, with more being added. The catalog will not match Just Dance Unlimited's licensed-music library, but everything here is free and immediately playable.

Will it work on a TV / big screen?

You can plug your laptop into a TV via HDMI and play that way - many people do exactly that. The webcam still needs a clear view of you, so position your laptop accordingly.
